POINT 1: Introduction to SAALS Advisory Committee
The SAALS Advisory Committee has been formed to ensure appropriate consumer and stakeholder input to issues relevant to SAALS in order to ensure SAALS operates as effectively as possible to meet the needs of its consumers. The committee will provide a forum for communication and will provide input on policy development including demand management and prioritisation of resources.

The stakeholders are consumer representatives, allied health representatives, a vascular nurse, rehabilitation specialist physicians and a prosthetist as well as the SAALS management.

The committee had its inaugural meeting on the 15th September at Domiciliary Equipment Service and will be an ongoing committee, meeting quarterly.

POINT 2: Expert advice
It was agreed by the committee that if expertise or advice on specific prosthetic technologies is required, the committee may at times invite a guest attendee. If necessary, to avoid any perceived conflict of interest, this person may be from interstate.
